On August 11, 2025, the prestigious Royal Melbourne Golf Club was abuzz with excitement as guests gathered for "Tee Off to Japan," an unforgettable evening celebrating Japanese culture, cuisine, golf, and networking. The event featured an exclusive golf clinic, luxury shopping experience, sake and Ibaraki-inspired food tasting, and presentations showcasing the best of both Australian and Japanese golfing communities.
The evening commenced at 5:30 pm, as attendees converged at the Pro Shop for a one-hour champagne shopping experience and a specialised golf clinic. Led by the highly-regarded teaching professionals Rachel Wiebe and Ryan McCarthy, 50 women honed their skills with the 7-iron and driver in 30-minute sessions in the state-of-the-art training facilities.
For those who preferred retail therapy over refining their swing, the luxury golf shopping event proved to be a delightful alternative. Guests were treated to exclusive offers on both men's and women's apparel, courtesy of Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
As the clock struck 6:30 pm, participants reconvened in the exquisite Clubhouse - Morcom Room, for a delicious sake and Ibaraki-inspired food tasting selection. The atmosphere was abuzz with anticipation as AWGN Co-Founder Jessica Eden and AWGN Japan Ambassador Dee Mills shared their expert insights into Ibaraki, while unveiling exciting details of the upcoming 2025 and 2026 Golf Tours, along with must-see sightseeing destinations.
A resounding success, "Tee Off to Japan" brought together a diverse array of members, industry partners and special guests, fostering new friendships and high-level networking opportunities against the backdrop of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club's unparalleled charm. Participants left the event with a newfound appreciation for Japanese culture, exceptional golfing experiences, and a strong sense of community.
