Jayne Hunt: Empowering Women On and Off the Golf Course as AWGN's New VIC Ambassador
The Australian Women's Golf Network is proud to introduce Jayne Hunt as their new Victorian Ambassador. With over 15 years of golf experience, Jayne has been a dedicated member of the golf community and a strong advocate for women's empowerment.
In her professional life, Jayne is an accomplished International Trade and Economic Development Professional. She advises companies on global expansion through investment and exports, while also working with governments to attract foreign direct investment. Specialising in the Agri Food & Drink sector, Jayne brings her expertise and leadership skills to her role as an AWGN Ambassador.
Jayne's love for golf began when she joined the prestigious Royal Birkdale Golf Club (RBGC) in the UK in 2010.
Since then, she has been actively involved in various golf clubs and organisations, including her current affiliation with the Albert Park Women's Golf Club.
Throughout her golf journey, Jayne has accumulated several accolades, including being the first female Sector Controller for the R&A at the 2017 British Open Championship at RBGC, and the 2012 Lady President’s Prize Winner at the RBGC.
Her motivation and interests are deeply rooted in creating inclusive spaces for women in the sport. "I believe golf should be welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age, background, experience level, or ability," says Jayne. She aims to inspire women to build confidence, connect socially, and prioritise their well-being through golf.
Jayne's commitment to health and wellness extends beyond the golf course. As someone living with haemochromatosis, a genetic iron overload disorder, she has participated in numerous charity runs and serves on the Management Committee of Haemochromatosis Australia. "I'm passionate about promoting early diagnosis and lifestyle management for chronic health conditions," shares Jayne.
Her dedication to inclusivity and leadership is evident in her active involvement within the community. She draws on her international experience to understand and respect cultural differences, which she sees as central to building inclusive communities. "I believe in approaching wellness holistically - through movement, meaningful causes, nourishing food, strong relationships, and giving back where I can," Jayne explains.
As the new Victorian Ambassador for AWGN and a founding member, Jayne is eager to use her wealth of experience and passion for the sport to inspire others to get involved, have fun, and grow both on and off the course.
Join Jayne and the AWGN community in celebrating women's achievements and the love for golf! Her commitment to promoting wellness, inclusivity, and leadership will undoubtedly strengthen the bond among women in the world of golf and beyond.
